Historical Uses of Land

The Wurundjeri people are the original custodians of the land. The Wurundjeri Tribe was one of the three tribes that shared the Upper Yarra and Healesville area. The land on which the Wurundjeri people camped on for periods of time provided them with food, water, medicine and shelter. When the land needed to rejuvenate, the tribe would simply move onto a different area. They treated the land that they camped on with all respect and treasured it as it was their home.
